Just for Tydon...
Last Fall I bought some fabric to make a quilt for Tydon's bed.
He transitioned from his crib to a Full size bed like a champ, but I felt bad because he had to use one of our wedding quilts. It was black and white and looked fine, but I really wanted him to have his own.
After I got done with baby brother's quilt, my sister-in-law (amazing quilter) said, "let's just get Tydon's done too." So we did. (All in one day) At first I wanted to just do a strip quilt, but changed my mind. Then I decided it would be fun to do a sports theme because of his bed.
So.... this is what we came up with.
He LOVES it!!
He likes to show it off to people when they come over for the first time.
We found his bed at RC Willey outlet. It was originally $900 and it was on clearance for $200!! {SCORE}
(The posts have baseballs on them)
*****************
When we were in Mud Lake last time Tydon was trying to follow his older (6) cousin Briggs and jumped off a bench, but missed the bed! It hurt him pretty bad. The next day he was talking to Gord and said, "Dad I can't fly like a bird."
(The picture isn't great, but the bruise was pretty bad a week later)
One of my favorite parts of the day is in the morning.
Being my pregnant self I don't get up any earlier than I have to, so Tydon usually comes and wakes me up by crawling in bed with me each morning. We snuggle and he tells me about his dreams about motorbikes, skateboards, playing football or hunting.
Love this kid!
I signed Tydon up for Itty-Bitty Football and he can hardly wait!
He'll tell just about anyone that he is going to play football.
So as I'm counting down the days for baby brother to arrive he is counting down the days until
Itty Bitty Football starts.
I made this chart for him last week because he asks me everyday if he gets to play yet.
I'm excited to see Tydon as a big brother.
He is such a good boy and we are so lucky to have him around.

Sunday
Finally Finished...
Gord and I finished the bassinet last night!!
I am so happy with how it turned out.
******************
I've decided we are just too picky or real ambitious...
We looked and looked for a bassinet online, in stores, on KSL and Craigslist but didn't love anything we found... except for this one-
One problem $450
Definitely not in the budget.
Gord looked at the picture and said, "We could make that."
We really wanted something that we could fold up and store, since you only use it for a month or two.
So here is what we came up with-
($150 later)
(I decided on giraffe because it can be used for either a boy or a girl)
(There are zippers under the flaps so it can be removed easily for washing)
Then when I saw this Minkee....
I couldn't resist ;)

One more project completed...
Only a couple more to go!!
A HUGE thanks to Gord and his sister Klista for helping me ;)

Update on some fun...
So fun to be back home...
We have been in Mud Lake all weekend and it has been just the vaca we've needed. Gord has been hunting and golfing and I've been finishing up some projects.
Gord had to go back Monday night, but he'll be back Thursday night.
For Labor Day Tydon and I went on a Razor ride with Gord's sister's fam...
Baylee got to drive the pregnant lady :)

Roastin hot dogs and marshmallows...

Dirty faces!

Some of the crew...

I got my quilts back from the quilter yesterday!!
I finished binding and they are ready to go...
Here is baby brother's
What do you think?

I'll post Tydon's once I get it on his bed :)
Today I need to finish some more changing pads and wipe cases for the boutique and then Tydon and I are headed to Idaho Falls to play with my family for the rest of the week.
Lots more fun to look forward to...

Tuesday
Updates and Nesting... Week 2
Quick August Update
Gordon and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary this year!
It was a perfect weekend... We ate dinner at The Roof, walked Temple Square, toured the Conference Center, stayed at the Anniversary Inn and shopped till we dropped in Park City. I'm so grateful to be married to my best friend.
The month of August was $2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point so we took Tydon to the Dinosaur Museum. I think Gordon enjoyed it just as much as Tydon...

This was a tricky spot over the closet.
Gord's sister-in-law had her baby... can't wait to meet her this weekend.
Laurel requested Pink and Brown and she's a country girl
This is her diaper bag...
It's always more fun to have a matching wipe case ;)don't need a changing pad anymore
Last week was pretty successful.
I washed all the 0-3 month clothes...
Thanks for the tip Sha
It always feels good to use up some scraps ;)
Gord is almost done with his part of the bassinet
We wanted something that we could break down and store since you only use the bassinet for a month or two, but we weren't about to pay $400 for it!
Once that's done-I'm hoping to make a few of these...

Waterless Flowers...
After the long weekend and the hot weather,
a few of my poor flowers didn't make it.
I've decided waterless flowers are a lot more fun:)
Check these out...
