2 Weeks old

Henson had his 2 week check up today.
I can't believe it has already been 2 weeks.
He is already starting to look thicker to me ;)
Head 14.5in - 40%
Length 20.5in - 40%
Weight 7.7 lbs - 20%

Compared to Tydon, his averages are smaller.
Maybe it's the difference between Tydon being a week late and Henson being about a week early.

Brotherly Love....

He always asks to hold him and has been so good and sweet with him

I can't believe how big Tydon is now! Having a newborn around makes me realize how big my little helper really is.
It has been such a fun week with Gordon's parents here for a few days and my mom here to help out. I'm so grateful for family and especially for my sweet husband and all he has done for me this week. Having Gord home has been such a HUGE help and blessing. We'll see what next week brings when I'm outnumbered during the day;)

Labor and Delivery...

For those that like the details...

I woke up early Sunday morning about 2am to an uncomfortable contraction. I repositioned myself trying to go back to sleep, but another one came. After a couple more, I got up and went to the bathroom then downstairs to get my phone to start timing them. Sure enough they were about 5 minutes apart but not breathtaking yet so I kept timing and tried to stay busy... blog surfed, took a bath, watched TV. By 5am the contractions were starting to take my breath away and I was getting pretty uncomfortable so I decided it was for real and time to get things packed up! I text Gord's niece to see if she would wake up and {luckily} she did. Tiffany was on her way to come and stay with Tydon so I woke Gord up and told him it was time to go have a baby. He jumped up and was pretty excited! I picked out some clothes for Tydon and packed him a bag to go to Gord's sister's. I had the baby bag packed and finished one for myself. Gord took the car seat down and put the bags in the car, Tiffany showed up and we were out the door. It took us about a half hour to get to the hospital. I was pretty hungry so I ate a banana on the way hoping it would help give me some energy.
At the hospital...
They admitted me at 6am. I was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. The nurse asked what I wanted for pain and I told her an epidural. She asked if I wanted it right away and I told her I'd wait. (I didn't want it to slow down my progression) At 7am they moved me to a different room and checked me again. I was dilated to a 4. I asked her if the anesthesiologist was busy and she said "no," so I decided it was time. After the epidural the nurse said she had talked to the Dr and he said to go ahead and break my water and start the pitosin to get the show on the road. By that time it was 8:30am. I was happy to be able to relax and tried to sleep. The nurse checked me again about 9am and I was dilated to a 7 so everything was moving right along. Little guy's heart was starting to slow down during contractions so they inserted a tube into my cervix to add water to help give him some cushioning. It did it's job and he was doing good again. About 10am I was starting to feel quite a bit of pressure and they hadn't checked me for a while so I called the nurse about 10:15am. I told her I thought I was ready so she checked me and sure enough he was at a 10 and I was 100% effaced. She called the Dr and he came back to the room to get ready. He suited up, lowered the bottom half of the bed and took a seat. The nurse sat the bed up and they told me on the next contraction to grab my knees and push. About that time I was ready to push, so I did as I was told, grabbed and pushed. Little guy crowned and I just kept pushing.... and out he came!! I couldn't believe it.
The cord was wrapped around his neck twice so I'm glad that he came fast.
We are so happy to finally have him here!

I'm so grateful for this sweet little spirit and the joy and happiness he has brought into our home. Gordon has been home all week with us and I have been loving every minute of it! He has been such a huge help and I'm gonna miss him next week when he goes back to work.

He's here...

6 lbs 14 oz

Another week...

Well... I am making some progess so that is good.

Last night I started to have some pretty good contractions around 7:30pm. They were about 5 minutes apart and lasted for at least an hour. I started moving around cleaning and doing a few things to see if they were going to stick around, but of course they let up.

Sleeping was quite the challenge though. I woke up 2-3 times every hour because I was contracting so much. I finally just got up at 6am with Gord because it was useless. We did get to enjoy some yummy french toast with buttermilk syrup together ;)

I laid down after he left and slept until Tydon woke up at 8am and then it was time to fix him some breakfast and get ready to go to the gym. I love the Pump Mix class on Thursdays... After the library we came home, showered, ate lunch and it was off to the Dr. (Thanks Jamie for watching Tydon this week)

I am dilated to a 2, but still have some effacing to do, but he said that doesn't really matter.
He gave me permission to have the baby anytime, but of course it'll take more than that.
We scheduled another appointment for next Thursday and if he doesn't come before then he said he would be happy to induce me on Friday (my due date).

So... either he comes on his own or we'll get to meet the little guy next Friday :)

Progress...

Wednesday night Gord took Tydon fishing.

They both were so excited all day...
While they were gone I finished up a couple projects, used up some zucchini and got out the pumpkin!!

Thursday night Gord and I went to the temple to do sealings.
It was such a great reminder of the covenants we've made. We learned so much from the Sealer - It is such a blessing to be close to a temple.

I can tell I'm getting closer to my due date because I've been nesting like crazy!!
Until you've experienced the feeling you don't quite understand why you want to scrub every inch of your house, organize every closet and drawer, wash windows and blinds... I've even been obsessive about the yard! Baby brother probably won't be having a camp out anytime soon, but I feel like the weeds need pulled and the grass trimmed...

Gordon has been so patient with me as I've been bugging him to help with this and that. He doesn't ask anymore, he just gets the job done ;)

I'm winding down on my cleaning...
So I've planned some more sewing for next week!

The Dr Says...
I had an appointment on Thursday and I'm starting to dilate!!
I didn't dilate at any of my appointments with Tydon so I was pretty excited to hear that I'm making some progress this early. I have another appointment next Thursday...

Overall...
I'm feeling really good and the nesting burst of energy is great!
I just wish I didn't have to sleep...
I really don't like getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night (usually at 1:30am and then again at 4:30am) staying comfortable so I can actually sleep is getting to be a challenge too.
Amazing how these little people just take over ;)
Tonight...
I'm looking forward to attending the Relief Society Meeting at the Conference Center.
I've always experienced the meeting through a broadcast so I'm excited for a new opportunity.

This is such a great time of year...
I love a Season change and the opportunity to listen to the leaders of our church provide council.
It's always another fresh start that helps rejuvenate me.

10 days in Idaho... and the Dr says...

Now that we are back to reality our trip flew by...

We spent most of the time in Mud Lake so Gord could hunt and golf.
While Gord went home for work I stayed in Idaho Falls to play.

Dr Appointment Update
I was measuring small... (31 weeks and I should have been at least 36) So the Dr ordered an ultrasound just to check growth. Sure enough the little man is a little small, but measuring 35 weeks. Tydon was 8 days late so... I'm expecting another late arrival.
The worst part though... The Dr made me get a FLU SHOT and my arm still hurts!
Of course I haven't started dilating yet...
We'll find out more next week;)

Update on some fun...

So fun to be back home...
We have been in Mud Lake all weekend and it has been just the vaca we've needed. Gord has been hunting and golfing and I've been finishing up some projects.
Gord had to go back Monday night, but he'll be back Thursday night.
For Labor Day Tydon and I went on a Razor ride with Gord's sister's fam...
Baylee got to drive the pregnant lady :)

What a week...

Last week was the Lehi Round-Up so there were several fun activities throughout the week.
We started Monday off at "Lehi's Got Talent" in the park. We ate Fried Chicken (yum!) and watched the finalists compete.Tuesday I had my Glucose Test (glad to get that over with) and my 25 Week appointment! I can't believe how fast time goes. We really need to start getting things ready for this little guy. We haven't come up with a name we love yet and the nursery is still pretty empty...
Wednesday morning we went to Play Group. The weather was so nice last week! The kids ran through the sprinklers and played in the kiddie pool. Tydon was loving it!!
Then we went home ate some lunch and got our swim suits on for some more water fun. We went to the outdoor pool with Corbin, Cambry and Brinley (Gord's nieces and nephew) Tydon LOVES his cousins and I appreciate their help :)
Thursday morning I took Tydon to Storytime at the Lehi Library. I was so impressed with the lady! He loved all the fun books and songs they sang... there are so many fun activities for kids here, Tydon loves it. After the library we went home and changed into our swim suits again for more water fun at the Legacy Center. They have a SUPER fun indoor/outdoor pool, the best I've seen for little kids. Tydon's friends Tylee and Porter came to swim. So fun!
After a fun day of swimming we headed home to pack for a quick trip to Idaho. My cute cousin Oakley got married Friday morning in the Rexburg, ID temple.

Later that afternoon it POURED rain! Tydon said, "mom look a waterfall." It was running off the house pretty steady for a while.
Saturday we got to spend a few hours with "Great" and then we were back on the road home to see daddy. Gord has been super busy with work lately so he wasn't able to go home with us. We got home early enough to go to the Lehi Rodeo.
We got lucky with close parking and great seats! Gord flipped burgers the night before so we got in for FREE... always love that :) It was a pretty good rodeo.

At the end they let the rest of the horses and bulls out to run the arena... one of my favorite parts.
Last night we went to my dad's brother's for dinner and games. I finally got to meet up with one of my cousins that I hadn't seen for years!! Him and his cute fiance are getting married in July.
What a week! Now it's time to play catch up and get ready for another long weekend! Yay!!
