Friday

Thanksgiving 09

I'm still trying to catch up from Thanksgiving!
We left Saturday afternoon and stopped in Pocatello for the night.
It was fun to meet Hudson for the first time. He is a month younger than Henson, but I'm pretty sure he is going to pass him up pretty quick! {Just look at his daddy!}

We went to church with Hill's on Sunday... it was so fun to go back to our old ward and see some of our friends that are still there ;)

After our stay in Poky we headed to Great's house in good ole' IF for an early Thanksgiving dinner with my family. It wasn't the traditional meal... much better if you ask me!

Monday we did some shopping and headed out to my parents for the night.
I cut the guys hair and gave Brody a new do too :)

Tuesday I {finally} got my hair done!
My mom had an Open House for Henson. It was fun to visit with friends and family!
{Of course I forgot to take pictures with the guests}
{Tydon went out with grandma to feed the horses}
Wednesday we headed out to Mud Lake for the rest of the weekend.
A few of the highlights...
*NEW MOON{I think I'm more excited for 3 and 4 now}
*Yummy Food
*Treats
*Bridal Shower
*Henson's blessing

Monday we headed home to unpack and get ready for family to come our way...
Tuesday two of Gord's nieces went through the Mt. Timpanogas temple. It was so awesome to be there to support them. I love going to the temple, especially when you get to be with family.

December 3rd was the big day for this cute couple!
They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. The sealing was beautiful! I am so grateful I was able to attend and be reminded of the vows and covenants that I have made to my best friend.

Before the reception we went to Thanksgiving Point and drove through the ligts...
Then we visited the LIVE reindeer ;)

It was freezing!

The reception was fun.
Look at this handsome little guy!

When they turned the music on for the couple's dance I looked over and found Tydon and Berkli up on the stage...
More updates to come....

A fun week...

The weather in Utah has been amazing! We have tried to soak up as much sun as we could this week. We started the week off by going to Hogle Zoo with friends from our ward.

Finished the night off with some wrestling with dad...
St Patrick's Day was Gordon's sister's birthday so we went over to their house for dinner.
She made Corn Beef and Cabbage and it was DELICIOUS!!
Tuesday night is also Gord's Bowling League night so Tydon and I went along to watch this week.
He joined the league through work and got a FREE ball and shoes!

Special Needs Mutual has been a blast so far...
Last week the girls did manicures and they LOVED it!

They have it set up so a YM and YW from each ward in the Stakes within West Jordan are called and assigned to a Special Needs person. There are about 32 YM and 32 YW with Special Needs. The youth come each Thursday to help their special friend.
This has truly been amazing calling.

This week was Pinewood Derby Week for the guys... so you can imagine the excitement!
Tydon woke up and immediately found his car this morning.

While the boys went to Mutual I attended a RS Conference for our Stake.
For Book Club last month they read "Running with Angels" by Pamela Hansen.
I don't know if many of you have read this, but it is quite the story. Pamela was the guest speaker last night and shared her story along with her testimony. I can't tell you how grateful I am for a healthy son and for the many blessings in my life. We often think that life is hard and that we don't know if we can endure another trial, but this book is a true testimony that you can. I admire people who look for tomorrow and don't dwell on today's mistakes or tragedies. We are so blessed to live another day to call a friend in need, smile at a passing stranger, be reminded that the laundry is never done, hear the birds singing outside, feel the warm sunshine, know that we are needed and look forward to tomorrow to accomplish something more.

Life is truly a blessing and one that we often take for granted until we are reminded of its importance. I hope we can all hug our families and friends and remind them that we love them, you never know who needs those precious words spoken.

Crafty fun and Sunny Sun...

Yesterday I finally sent off a changing pad order that I've been working on
for a while. It's for a John Deere lover and I hope she loves it as much as I do.
Cute tractor button
Matching wipe case... with elastic in the back to carry diapers
once the baby doesn't need the changing pad anymore
Congrats Jenny!! Hope that baby arrives safely in a couple weeks!!!

After we went to the post office Tydon was excited about the sunshine and wanted to play outside. When I talked to my mom in Idaho and she said she was sitting in her car in the middle of a snow storm!! So I knew I had to take advantage... I couldn't get Tydon to come inside to eat so I took lunch to him.
It was really bright!
Between bites he was running back and forth.
Ready, Set, Go...
Pretty sure we have another football player in the fam.
After lunch we went for a walk to soak up as much sun as we could!
February usually doesn't provide us with such warm weather...
maybe being in Utah isn't so bad :)

Oh wait! I guess it's back to reality.
This is what we woke up to this morning.
I guess when it's warm outside you HAVE to take advantage while you can!!

Monday

Gordon's FIRST business TRIP...

And the spouses were invited!!!
We left Wednesday evening after work and flew to sunny Huntington Beach, CA.
The hotel was AMAZING...

I loved these little golf figurines...
Thursday
We went to a few meetings, layed at the pool and went to the beach...

Thursday evening was semi-formal night where we were "wined" and dined. It was fun having some of our best friends there to hang out with.

The meal...
Love HIM!!
Friday
Gordon surprised me with breakfast in bed!! YUM~
The spouses didn't need to be there early so I got to sleep in.
Later that morning the spouses filled two charter buses and they drove us to the
This is a bowling alley/cocktail lounge like you've never seen before!
Our bowling socks and shoes were there waiting for us...
It was quite the party... with 31 lanes of crazy fun!!
Team: Life in the Fast Lane...
After the buffet lunch and bowling the spouses were all thanked for their support to Kiewit employees and we all got Tommy Bahama watches!!
We headed back to the hotel to find Hawaiian shirts on our beds. We got changed and headed out to the beach for a group photo. I was excited to wear a REAL Hawaiian Orchid lei.
Dinner was served in the ballroom with a Polynesian theme.
A few of the guys learned to Hula...
It was a fun evening to remember.

Saturday...
Kiewit provided us with breakfast and let us have Saturday to ourselves to enjoy Cali. We decided to join some of the other couples and went to
Disneyland
We went with 3 other couples from Gordon's office.
We got there when the park opened and stayed until we couldn't walk anymore...

The highlight of my evening was when I saw Mickey and he posed for a picture.
We ended the evening with a final soak in the hot tub and slept in Sunday morning before we flew home.

Goodbye sunny California...
It was a fabulous vacation and exciting weekend away! I am so grateful for Gordon and his willingness to work hard. He is my Best Friend and I love him so much!!
***********************
We sure did miss this cute kid though!
We are so grateful for Gordon's new job and the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing company. We look forward to this annual meeting next year :)

Thanks to the fam for watching Tydon so we could enjoy a weekend away... We love you!

Miscellaneous Monday Tip

1 day Disneyland tickets are normally $94 per person for Parkhopper tickets
(Disney theme park/California Adventure)

Don't pay FULL PRICE!!

I was able to find 2 Adult Parkhopper tickets on
EBAY for $71.
You can also look on Craigslist. (Anaheim)

I'd be happy to give you the number for Wendy, the lady I purchased from, so you don't have to worry about bidding.

Super Bowl Party...

Gordon and I got home from Cali just after kick off so we headed over to our friends house for some football, food and fun.

We have made some great friends here in Utah!!
Thanks for inviting us Furners!
