SUPER SATURDAY

SIMPLIFIED....

I was the Enrichment Leader in our last ward and it was such a fun calling. I worked with some amazing women who were talented, motivated and super fun!!

It seems like most wards and stakes are no longer doing Super Saturdays, but as women we still have a NEED to create... so as a committee we came up with an idea for an activity to allow us the opportunity to both SERVE and CREATE in one activity.

The 2 months prior to the activity we gathered donations from the ward to help fill Humanitarian Kits to be donated to the church. We had enough supplies to complete 25 Hygiene Kits and 25 School kits.

So as the sisters arrived at the activity, they helped put kits together...We also put together personal heaters
Then we talked about emergency plans...

Then it was time to CREATE...
Our main craft was Family Home Evening magnet boards.

Gordon's niece helped me and we came up with a few different options.

We sold about 200 kits!!

A couple of the girls in the committee are experienced with Photoshop and one of them made a template for Family Proclomations.
So we had a table set-up with computers for people to create their own proclamation.

We had such a great turnout!!
I am FOREVER grateful to all of the sisters on the committee and everyone that helped to make this activity a success.

Update on some fun...

So fun to be back home...
We have been in Mud Lake all weekend and it has been just the vaca we've needed. Gord has been hunting and golfing and I've been finishing up some projects.
Gord had to go back Monday night, but he'll be back Thursday night.
For Labor Day Tydon and I went on a Razor ride with Gord's sister's fam...

We left last Thursday evening and headed to Tabiona, UT... Ever heard of it??
We hadn't either until we were invited to stay the weekend with Gordon's sister's fam.
It is past Strawberry Reservoir East of Provo.

Friday Gordon got up early and went fishing with Snap and Kirk. He even brought back some lunch! Yum :)

While Gord was gone Tydon stayed with me and played with his new friend Elli.

I finally finished some headbands my friend and I started a few weeks ago.

We finished the night off watching the town fireworks from the cabin.
Sunday on our way home we stopped to see a new lodge recently built in Tabiona. It is amazing!! Some people had stayed the night before so I took pictures of the detail throughout. The guy who owns the cabin is trying to keep prices down and only charges $100/room per night! It is gorgeous... There are 13 bedrooms and each bedroom has its own bathroom. There is a private, stocked fish pond and amazing views located on an elk farm.
