SUPER SATURDAY

SIMPLIFIED....

I was the Enrichment Leader in our last ward and it was such a fun calling. I worked with some amazing women who were talented, motivated and super fun!!

It seems like most wards and stakes are no longer doing Super Saturdays, but as women we still have a NEED to create... so as a committee we came up with an idea for an activity to allow us the opportunity to both SERVE and CREATE in one activity.

The 2 months prior to the activity we gathered donations from the ward to help fill Humanitarian Kits to be donated to the church. We had enough supplies to complete 25 Hygiene Kits and 25 School kits.

So as the sisters arrived at the activity, they helped put kits together...We also put together personal heaters
Then we talked about emergency plans...

Then it was time to CREATE...
Our main craft was Family Home Evening magnet boards.
This is where our idea came from.

Gordon's niece helped me and we came up with a few different options.

We sold about 200 kits!!

A couple of the girls in the committee are experienced with Photoshop and one of them made a template for Family Proclomations.
So we had a table set-up with computers for people to create their own proclamation.

We had such a great turnout!!
I am FOREVER grateful to all of the sisters on the committee and everyone that helped to make this activity a success.

Harvest Feast

For our ward activity this month we enjoyed a Harvest Feast and had brother Kirkham come and speak to us about Jewish traditions and their Harvest Feasts. It was definitely a night to remember.

The decorations were provided by our bishop's wife. She did an amazing job.

For dinner we had Dinner in a Pumpkin with Mrs. Powell's rolls... YUMMY!

We were even visited by the "Candy Corn Man."

We also enjoyed Fall desserts...

Special thanks to our wonderful clean up crew who stuck it out to the very end!!

Ward Campout

Gordon and I are still the Activity Committee Directors for the ward and this month we had a "Ward Campout." We didn't stay overnight, but we did eat dutch oven potatoes, chicken and cobbler. Yum! Yum!


Everyone brought blankets or chairs and gathered around for an awesome meal! Our ward is so great about coming out to activities.
















Tydon LOVES corn on the cob, so he was real excited and didn't miss a kernel-

The kids had a ton of fun on our bishops blow up slide-it was a HUGE hit!













They even used the fan as a drum:)

This has been such an awesome calling-Gordon and I have really enjoyed planning parties every month!!

Ward Dinner Dance

I didn't get pictures of the dinner or the dancing... but I was so proud of Tydon! After we got done eating he said "Mommy stinky." So I rushed him into the bathroom and he sat on the toilet and went poop! All I could find right away were some crackers for his treat.

Tyler rode his bike to the activity and Tydon was so excited. He was scared of it when it was turned on, but thought it was cool to sit on when it was turned off. Now when we hear a motorcycle go down the street Tydon says, "Tyler?"

Ward Luau Party

The ward Luau was a HUGE success! We had over 30 couples there and the food was awesome! Thank you so much to everyone that helped and came to enjoy. The party was held in Blackfoot at the Peterson's. They have a beautiful yard that worked out perfect for the event.


I found some fun decorations at Party Palace (located in the Pocatello mall!!! Where Macy's use to be - I know... I know...)

The pig had to cook for 11 hours in this huge pit! It was sooo yummy! They had the meat already taken off and in a cooler before everyone arrived-by request of our bishops wife :)


After everyone ate we set up a volleyball net for some entertainment.

I don't know who was more entertained us or the cows that came to watch! It was really random, they all came running over, like it was feeding time, to watch what we were doing.

This was one of our best activities for sure. Even though it was in Blackfoot we had the best turn out as well. It is so much fun to plan big parties. We are really going to miss this ward and our calling.

Hawaiin Luau

Gordon and I are the Activity Directors for our ward and we had a fun suggestion for a Luau. We are going to celebrate at one of the sister's parent's house in Blackfoot. We are going to roast a pig in the ground and have a party! I am so excited. This is most likely the last activity we will get to plan so I'm hoping it is one to remember. I decided to have fun with the invitations and my friend Andrea and I spent a few hours making these cute surf board invitations. I'll post pictures of the party in a couple weeks. If anyone has some fun ideas for a Luau... Decor, food, drinks... anything, please let me know.
