Gordon's FIRST business TRIP...

And the spouses were invited!!!
We left Wednesday evening after work and flew to sunny Huntington Beach, CA.
The hotel was AMAZING...

Thursday
We went to a few meetings, layed at the pool and went to the beach...

Thursday evening was semi-formal night where we were "wined" and dined. It was fun having some of our best friends there to hang out with.

It was quite the party... with 31 lanes of crazy fun!!
Team: Life in the Fast Lane...
After the buffet lunch and bowling the spouses were all thanked for their support to Kiewit employees and we all got Tommy Bahama watches!!
We headed back to the hotel to find Hawaiian shirts on our beds. We got changed and headed out to the beach for a group photo. I was excited to wear a REAL Hawaiian Orchid lei.
Dinner was served in the ballroom with a Polynesian theme.

It was a fun evening to remember.

Saturday...
Kiewit provided us with breakfast and let us have Saturday to ourselves to enjoy Cali. We decided to join some of the other couples and went to
Disneyland
We went with 3 other couples from Gordon's office.
We got there when the park opened and stayed until we couldn't walk anymore...


The highlight of my evening was when I saw Mickey and he posed for a picture.
We ended the evening with a final soak in the hot tub and slept in Sunday morning before we flew home.

It was a fabulous vacation and exciting weekend away! I am so grateful for Gordon and his willingness to work hard. He is my Best Friend and I love him so much!!

We are so grateful for Gordon's new job and the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing company. We look forward to this annual meeting next year :)

Super Bowl Party...

Gordon and I got home from Cali just after kick off so we headed over to our friends house for some football, food and fun.


We have made some great friends here in Utah!!

Printer Ink...

Out of Ink cartridge can still work...There is a reset button -

Tiny hole above circuit board -

That gives a more accurate reading... May be half full yet.

I tried this on my Brother cartridge and didn't find a reset button, but if you have a printer cartridge that you have to pull off the protective tape to uncover the circuit board (goldish shiny part) you may be in luck. There is a tiny button at the top that you can reset for a more accurate ink level reading. The video showed an Epson cartridge so they should work.

Computer Shortcuts...
Most of us know how to copy and paste, but here are a few more.

1. (Ctrl+T) - fast way to pull up a new tab on your browser.
2. (Ctrl+F) - find a specific word on a page fast.
3. (Ctrl+C) - copies highlighted text on a page.
4. (Ctrl+V)- pastes the copied text wherever your cursor is.
5. (Ctrl+X) - deletes selected items.

"Daddy's at work"

Gordon has officially been a working man for two weeks now! Tydon has figured out that "Daddy's at work" everyday and just knows he doesn't get home until mom starts cooking dinner. He'll look out the window during the day and say "I want daddy come home."

So my job during the day is to keep Tydon busy!! From singing songs, reading books, baking, coloring, making crafts or watching a little Dora... daddy eventually comes home.

This little guy misses his dad which makes for an exciting time when he finally arrives. I always laugh at how rowdy he gets when a little testosterone enters the house.

When the Call's are callin...

You know you're in for a good time.

Moving to Utah meant moving closer to some of our very best friends... Kate and Jeremy. Saturday night they invited us to come for dinner and some CRAZY fun...
We started with Kate's awesome homemade chicken noodle soup.
It was DELICIOUS and we were ALL stuffed!!
(We didn't even get to try Jeremy's dessert)

Gordon got kinda giddy when they said we were going to Walmart to buy Rock Band World Tour for their Wii. He LOVES Guitar Heroe.

I'll just say it was a BLAST!! We played until 2:30 AM!!

Thanks again Kate and Jeremy for such a fun evening, we'll have to do it again real soon :)

Family Home Evening with the Byers...

Monday night for Family Home Evening we went bowling with Gord's sister Klista, her husband Kirk, and Kaitlin. It was so much fun!! Tydon even bowled for the first time! He LOVED it.

I have to brag a little... I had 3 strikes in a ROW!!! I guess they call it a turkey. Gordon was mad that I (finally) beat him with a score of 136!!! I was a little excited :)
